Ndung... Ndang... Nding.... Tersengat Cinta Endut

The type of this book is fiction and contains of 174 pages. This book is published by Sheila, editor by Theresia Arie Prabawati, setting by Alek, and desain cover by Dan_dut. The author is Ari Wulandari. He is graduated Indonesian literature from UGM, Yogyakarta. Since he was child, he love writing. His short stories have been published in some mass media, like as Gadis, Kawanku, Aneka, Hai, Gaul, Jelita, others.  He also writes some short stories in Java language and published it in some magazines, like as Penebar Semangat, Jaya Baya, Djaka Ladang, others. He got “ Anugerah Kebudayaan 2006” from Minister of Cultur and Tourism Indonesia, with category “ Penulis Buku Anak yang Berdedikasi Kepada Kebudayaan, that was given by Minister of Cultur and Tourism Indonesia; and got 2^nd Champion “ Lomba Nasional Gemar Baca Tulis Tingkat Perguruan Tinggi, that was organized by Klub Perpustakaan Indonesia Pusat in 1999.

This book tells about a young boy, that every people call him Endut, but nobody knows his real name. He is a student in a High School in Tulungagung. Her head is bald and he is fat. Beside as a student, he also works as the seller “Kolak” and “Es Serut”. The story begin when Endut and his friend, Emon are selling “Kolak and “Es Serut”. Suddenly, a beautiful girl, Tungder that drive her Mercedez Benz stop near Endut’s wagon. She buys Endut’s “Kolak” and helps him to wash the tools. She is very humble even though she is rich. Then Endut and Tungder become a couple, but Endut’s father do not give permitt to Endut to have a girlfriend because he is still young. Endut tries to assure his father that Tungder is a good girl, but his father still do not want to give him permit. Until his father knows that Tungder is his boss’ daughter, then he agrees to give permit.

The big problem comes when Dinuk, Endut’s classmate tries to tempt Endut. Actually, before Endut know with Tungder, Endut fall in love with Dinuk, but Dinuk do not want to accept Endut. After she hears that Endut close with Tungder, Dinuk is jealous and try to tempt Endut. Endut becomes dizzy, but with assistance from Emon, he success to solve his problem with Dinuk. But the problem comes again when Shaloon, Tungder’s cousin also fall in love with Endut.

I like the moment when Endut is selling his commodities. He thinks about his future. So, he tries to work to get money for his college later. Even thought he still young, he is not shy to work. I also like when Endut tries to repair his sister’s task that has damaged by flood. It means Endut love to his sister. We should imitate his behavior. Besides, I do not like the moment when Endut lie to Shaloon.

I think this book is good. I like this book because the story is very funny. The plot and the language are good. The author uses the language that easy to understand.  The cover is also interesting and propels the story. This is suitable for teenager, because this book tells about a young boy that has worked to help his parents’ although he is still young. I recommend you to read this book. From this book we can learn that even though we are still students, we should try to be independent, do part time job, and do not bother our parents.
